Zippy’s Account Center 2024
Zippy’s is a beloved Hawaiian chain known for its mix of local comfort food, fast service and casual dining experience. They’re famous for their plate lunches, saimin and chili, Zippy’s has been a go-to spot for generations of locals and visitors alike. With multiple locations across Hawaii, a new location was opening in Las Vegas which was a great opportunity to spread awareness to their loyalty program in tandem.
PROBLEM: Zippy's loyalty program was powered by Punchh, but the desktop experience suffered from significant brand disconnect and unintuitive for their loyal customers. The platform appeared generic and disconnected from Zippy's established brand identity, creating a jarring experience for loyal customers.
My role extended beyond creating the design, I served as a bridge between stakeholders and developers to transform the Zippy’s digital loyalty experience into a more dynamic, digestible and user-friendly interface.
PROCESS: The existing Punchh iframe consisted of a simple skeleton of multiple tabs, but no clear queues or information that was intuitive.
Using the left navigation as guidance, I created wireframes to showcase a more dynamic experience. I included a dashboard where their customers can get a better visual of their points and activity at a glance.
I worked closely in iterations with the development team to make sure the features and designs I incorporated were in line with Punchh’s API and functionality.

SOLUTION: Zippy’s already had a separate mobile app that is in-line with their brand identity and the stakeholders wanted the desktop experience to match. The mobile app had visual data that we could utilize to put more life into the desktop experience. A Zipcoin meter that showed customers how many points they have earned and what their next reward could be and daily offers that were unique to their location. Above is the final wireframe that I presented to the client. Below is the end product that launched February 22, 2024.

RESULTS: With this custom built account center, Zippys had more control over their marketing and branding and was able to give their Zipster Rewards Members a better experience.
